1.Japanese prime minister Shinzo Abe is scheduled to visit the USS Arizona Memorial at pearl harbor in Hawaii on Tuesday. He becomes the first Japanese prime minister to visit monument to sailors in the ruin killed in the 1941 Japanese attack.

2.Russia's defence ministry says the search crew found the flight recorder from the plane crashed in the black sea. A statement said the recorder was about a mile from shore.

3.Fights broke at malls in the number of states on the day after Christmas sending shoppers running and forcing police to evacuate the buildings. Instances were reported in the states including New York, Ohio, Kentucky, Colorado, North Carolina and Tennessee.

4.Thousands of people remain without power in Dakotas, Nebraska and Michigan after a few winter storms swept the red region. High wind is drifting snow and can still make travel dangerous in northern South Dakotas.
